Instructional Design Associate

K2 Health is a rapidly growing company that provides training solutions to physician practices and life science companies. We provide instructor led training, workshops, content creation and online learning. Our clients are Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies, medical societies and associations and community-based physician practices. Our content is driven by physician practices and educates the vendors and teams that rely on practices to drive their growth and to understand the challenges practices are facing as the landscape of healthcare continues to change. We also provide custom workflow and process improvement training for teams in healthcare settings.

 

Job Summary

The K2 team is looking for a part time Instructional Designer to join our team. In this role, you’ll specialize in designing and developing a framework and delivery model for our custom learning content. You will be working on projects that include video, voiceover, interactivity, micro-learning and eLearning features. You’ll collaborate with consultants and subject matter experts to create learning experiences that demonstrate sound adult learning strategies, produce desired learning outcomes, and develop targeted competencies to create best in class products to drive growth and generate revenue for K2 Health. You’ll need to be able to thrive and succeed in a very collaborative, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

 

This is a part-time contract position with the ability to develop into full-time or an employed position based on results and desire for growth. The ideal candidate will live in the Charlotte, NC area. Remote locations will be considered for the appropriate candidate.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Scope and estimate level of effort for project deliverables

  • Design creative learning solutions strategies that meet the business needs and solve business problems

  • Design and develop learning materials in accordance with established design models (PowerPoint, multimedia, eLearning, video, and other learning-related materials)

  • Consult with other instructional designers, business development managers, consultants, or subject matter experts regarding learning strategies, blended design, and business requirements that impact the learning needs and learning solutions initiatives

  • Conduct analyses of target audience, training requirements, and media requirements

  • Design training materials and assessments in adherence to brand standards

  • Test training materials to ensure their quality

  • Demonstrate high levels of motivation through meeting and working within established project budgets and timelines

  • Exhibit solid interpersonal and communication skills that enable successful internal and external interaction in a variety of modes including face-to-face meetings, phone calls, phone conferences, virtual meetings, and written communication

  • Participate in and lead projects as required

 

Required Skills

  • 2-5 years of instructional design experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Deep knowledge of adult learning theory and how to apply these theories in the design of learning experiences

  • Expertise in eLearning development tools like Captivate or Storyline

  • Recent experience designing instructional solutions

  • Ability to work remotely from home with little oversight to meet goals and be productive

  • Ability to work on your own and with diverse teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to learn new tools and processes quickly with little guidance or documentation

  • Ability to edit and perform quality assurance (QA) on your own work

  • Understand and have ability to handle multiple priorities in a very fluid working environment

  • Humble, but confident approach: able to accept feedback and thrive in a culture of learning and problem solving as a group

  • Process oriented with organizational skills to take large chunks of information and create a standard workflow to complete projects efficiently

  • High proficiency and productivity in Microsoft Office & Google Suite tools, including Google Docs, SharePoint, and web conferencing (i.e. Zoom)
